Descriptions of Funds & How We Help
Funding Streams
Community Fund:
UWAPU’s Community Fund is used to invest in a
solid, reliable, human service network. We have traditionally
invested in local service agencies that provide a wide range of
network support around our community. Our accredited
agencies are active partners in designing program and
service delivery that impacts the community in a meaningful
way.
This funding is used in two ways: (1) for programs
and services that address problems which people already
face (2) for programs and services that reduce or
eliminate root causes of problems.
Community Initiatives Fund:
UWAPU’s Community Initiatives Fund is available
to charitable organizations who are not accredited
agencies of UWAPU. Funds are used to assist grass root
organizations with one time project funding or seed
money for new programs under development that meet
a need in the community.
Emergency Fund:
UWAPU has set aside a Fund which is available to any
community charitable or non-profit group in the community
for emergency purposes. Purposes which are eligible
for support through the Emergency Fund are:
- To assist community organizations
to respond quickly to community disasters or emergencies.
- To provide financial support to community organizations
experiencing extraordinary and unexpected financial
need.
- To provide community organizations with bridge
funding, only when the absence of such funding
would seriously
threaten the organization or program’s survival.
